Slumdog Millionaire actress and women's rights activist Freida Pinto has been announced as luxury Swiss watch brand Audemars Piguet's new ambassador.

Pinto, who's also appeared in films including Knight of Cups and Desert Dancer, has been working with Plan International on the charity's 'Because I am a Girl' campaign since 2012, which supports sustainable projects in developing countries and gives girls access to clean water, food, healthcare, education, and protection from violence and exploitation.
